2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26)

As official housing agent of COP26, MCI evaluated the sustainability performance of all the hotels contracted.

The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) summit brought parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

MCI was the official housing bureau, sourcing accommodation for delegations, world leaders, the UN, Police Scotland and the UK governmental departments. 

For this major conference, we have developed our own sustainability check-lists to evaluate the sustainability performance of all the hotels we had contracted and provide them with enhancement suggestions to improve their practices.

The check-lists covered questions about waste management, energy and water savings, accessibility, social and community outreach, procurement practices, and governance.
