OURSummit ISO 20121 certified

The OURSummit organised by MCI China was certified ISO 20121 in event sustainability management.

The 2nd International Conference on Industrial and Energy Internet Innovation (OURSummit) took place on 9 -10 July 2021 in Wenzhou, China. Under the theme “Digital Energy, Smarter Internet of Things”, the summit promoted sustainable energy and industrial innovation and explored how to achieve carbon neutrality through technology.

Attended by approximately 1,000 thought leaders of government sectors, representatives of industry associations, academic leaders, and entrepreneurs, the conference was certified ISO 20121. This internationally recognised Event Sustainability Management System certification helps improve sustainability throughout the entire event management cycle.

These are some of the initiatives implemented by MCI China team to receive the ISO certification：

• • The exhibition area included a sustainable and digital solution demonstration parks.
  • Producing environment-friendly conference materials and recycling some of them: pencils, conference papers, notebooks, bags and badges.
  • Implementing zero-paper registration and communication.
  • Using new energy vehicles for private transports and encouraging other delegates to use public transports.
  • Encouraging online participation via live stream which enabled audience to visit the pavilions from their home. 
  • Making sure to comply with economic, environmental, social, human rights, labour and operation practices.
  • All staff received training on ISO20121 system and a certification after the course.
